Day 152-Day 155 Zeros
We did about one mile to the Timberline Lodge and paid for their expensive breakfast Buffett. At $32 it would generally be out of my budget but I had heard great things and had been dreaming about it. It was delicious but I was disappointed at only being able to eat a plate and a half of it.

After breakfast we checked out the famous lodge that was used for the exterior shots of The Shining. We then began the attempts to get back down to Bend, a 2 hour drive away. We hitched outside the lodge for about 30 minutes then with no luck we took the bus down the mountain to the rest stop/gas station.

We had a sign and stayed out there for 45 min to an hour before we found a ride halfway to Madras. In Madras we spent another 20 minutes or so asking people at the gas station for a ride. We found a ride a bit closer to Bend, right outside Redmond. By then my sister in law Bri was able to come save the day and picked us up and brought us back to their house. It felt so nice to have made it back and finally get some much deserved rest.
We spent the next few days resting and taking care of chores. We binge watched a season of White Lotus, made cookies and Bri cooked us up some delicious meals! It was nice spending time with my brother Ryan and Bri. Connor, my friend from SLC, came to visit on his way back from Squamish and I got to spend some time with him as well. We all went floating down the river and did some slacklining in the park
We found a ride up to Cascade Locks from Bend for the annual PCT Trail Days! It is held in Cascade Locks at the border of Oregon and Washington. The first day was a bit rainy and the second day was super hot. We caught up with some of our friends, Tuah, Kiki, Bushwhack, Toro, Beer Run, Mango, Payload, Hilldoggo and many more!

There were a bunch of vendors giving away freebies and there were a ton of raffles to enter in. Friday night things were postponed because of weather but people went out on the town- to one of the 3 bars in town. Saturday night there was a DJ from about 8pm-10pm.
We walked away with a bunch of freebies and some really discounted purchases. Mantis and I got a good deal on an ultralight two person tent and I was given a brand new foam sleeping pad. He also got a good deal on a new sleeping bag and sleeping pad and he won a new pair of shoes in a raffle.
